POWER PRODUCT DIVISION (PPD)

Set up in 1983, with Allison Transmission Division of General Motors, USA as technical collaborators, the Power Product Unit of Hindustan Motors Limited manufactures heavy-duty power shift/automatic transmissions. The products of this division are used in heavy-duty vehicles like dumpers, loaders, dozers, scrapers and mobile cranes that find application in mainly infrastructure projects and in the mining industry. 

This division is equipped with a range of facilities from sourcing / manufacturing critical components to assembly and testing of fully built transmissions and their sub-assemblies. Having been certified QS 9000 from Underwriters Laboratories, the plant complies to quality standards. 
With capacity of 1500 units per annum and in-house capabilities to produce a wide range of world-class precision-machined products, this division has successfully manufactured and put into operation more than 10,000 automatic / powershift transmissions ranging from 100HP to 630 HP.
